Fundraising Strategy

Sunshine Coast Council has endorsed a business case to develop the Sunshine Coast Gallery of Art to support regional growth, host high profile touring exhibitions and increase visitation. J9 was contracted to develop a fundraising strategy to support the development of a Sunshine Coast Gallery of Art so that it can progress to investment-ready status.

Back To Case Studies

Approach

J9 conducted consultations with regional stakeholders and industry advisors, alongside an in-depth analysis of the external fundraising environment. This included research into diverse funding models, resulting in the development of a targeted fundraising strategy for a successful $40M capital campaign.

Impact

J9’s fundraising strategy was approved by the Sunshine Coast Arts Advisory Board and the Gallery Campaign Sub Committee. Funds were subsequently committed to resourcing a capital campaign led by the Sunshine Coast Council and the Sunshine Coast Arts Foundation.

In Their Words

Jennifer Radbourne, Chair Sunshine Coast Arts Foundation and Gallery Campaign Sub Committee
In February 2024, Janine Collins provided the Sunshine Coast Council and the Sunshine Coast Arts Foundation with an invaluable strategic study to prepare for the fundraising and philanthropic investment in the new Sunshine Coast Gallery of Art. She gave both background information and data, and a plan for the campaign. Her deep analysis, together with practical ideas, community consultation, and collateral content, was approved by the Sunshine Coast Arts Advisory Board and the Gallery Campaign Sub Committee, initialising the Campaign for Council and the Foundation. Janine is an experienced and informed consultant, but also an engaged and supportive leader.
